Preseason favorite Husson University has earned the top seed for the 2019 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Women's Tennis Championship that will be held Sunday, October 6th at the Woburn Racquet Club in Woburn, Massachusetts.
Husson wrapped up the regular season with a perfect 6-0 conference record and 8-1 overall. The Eagles will face #4 Northern Vermont-Lyndon (3-8 overall, 2-4 NAC) in a semifinal match. Second seed Lesley (6-5, 5-1) will square off with #3 MCLA (5-4, 4-2) in the first semifinal contest.
The first semifinal between Lesley and MCLA will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the second semifinal between Husson and NVU-Lyndon scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m., though it could be earlier if Match 1 concludes early. The winners will meet in the final round at 3:30 p.m., or an hour after the opening matches are complete.
The NAC has partnered with the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) in the sport of women's tennis several times since 2010. This season, NEAC institutions are competing as associate members of the NAC, with the conferences divided into East (NAC) and West (NEAC) Divisions. Each division holds a fall championship, and the two divisional champs will compete this spring to determine the NAC Conference Champion and a berth to the 2020 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship in May.
