PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Leo Shidler, Mount Ida College
(Sr., A - Peabody, MA/Peabody)
Mount Ida College senior captain Leo Shidler (Peabody, MA/Peabody) led the Mustang men's lacrosse team to their sixth consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship title this past Saturday with a record breaking nine goals and one assists gaining MVP tournament honors.

Billy Noyes, Johnson State College
(Jr., Attack - Boston, Mass.)
Billy Noyes, in a 1-2 week for JSC, tallied 12 points on seven goals and five assists. Noyes' week was highlighted by a 2-goal, 5-assist effort in a 20-10 NAC Quarterfinal win over Emerson.

Alex Petti, Johnson State College
(Fr., Mid/Att - East Greenwich, R.I.)
Alex Petti, in a 1-2 week for JSC, tallied five points on four goals and an assist. Petti errupted for four goals in the Badgers 20-10 North Atlantic Conference victory over Emerson to highlight his week.

Chris Mansour, Lyndon State College
(Junior, Attack - Mansfield, Mass.)
Mansour scored 11 goals in the week Lyndon State, who upped its record to 3-8 on the season. Mansour netted seven goals in a 13-11 conference win over Green Mountain on Saturday.

 

 

 

Josh Anderson, Emerson College
(2011, Attack - Underhill Center, Vt.)
Josh played in only one game during the week due to illness, but scored a school single game record 14 points on nine goals and five assists in Emerson's non-conference victory over Mitchell College.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Justin Connolly, Johnson State College
(Fr., Midfield - Jeffersonville, Vt.)
Justin Connolly helped Johnson State to a 2-0 week, both NAC wins, by recording three goals and an assist while picking up seven groundballs. Connolly had two goals and an assist in JSC's 15-7 win at home vs. Green Mountain and then tallied a goal in a 15-6 win at St. Joseph's of Maine.

Matthew Savage, Mount Ida College
(So., A - Peabody, Massachusetts)
Sophomore attackman Matthew Savage guided his team to a 2-0 week with eight goals in two games. Savage notched three scores against a very tough non-conference Babson College in a last second 8-7 victory for the Mustangs. He tallied five scores in an 18-4 romping of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) foe Maine Maritime Academy.

Jonathan Horgan, Saint Joseph's College
(Freshman, Midfield - Hingham, MA)
In the Monks' only contest of the week, Horgan tallied a program record totals of seven goals and nine points in a 16-5 victory over Lyndon State College.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Billy Noyes, Johnson State College
(Jr., Attack - Boston, Mass.)
Billy Noyes tallied 15 points in a 2-0 week for Johnson State, both NAC victories for the Badgers. Noyes added 14 groundballs to his seven goals and eight assists. Noyes scored four goals and assisted on six others in a 17-5 win over Lyndon State and then notched three goals and two assists in a 14-5 win at Thomas College.

Pat Curran, Emerson College
(Fr., Goal - Framingham, Mass.)
In Sunday's game against St. Joseph's College had 31 saves and allowed only seven goals for a save percentage of .816 to raise Emerson's record to 4-2, 3-1 NAC.

 

 



Jonathan Horgan, Saint Joseph's College
(Freshman, Midfielder - Hingham, MA)
Horgan scored 10 goals and added two assists and 19 groundballs in four games for the Monks last week.

Andrew DiSalvo, Maine Maritime
(Freshman, Attack - Glastonbury, CT)
In two games this week DiSalvo scored 18 goals and dished out 7 assists for a 25-point week. In MMA's win over Thomas College, DiSalvo scored 8 goals and dished out 6 assists for 14 points. In their win over St. Joseph's on Saturady DiSalvo ties a 20 year old record by scoring 10 goals in the game.

 



Michael Martinez, Castleton
(Jr., Midfield - Barrington, IL)
Martinez scored seven goals in a 1-1 week for the Spartans. In Saturday's win over Mount Ida, the junior midfielder scored six goals, including what proved to be the game-winner with four minutes remaining in the third period handing Mount Ida their first conference defeat in six seasons.

Horgan scored nine goals and added four assists in a 1-1 week for St. Joe's. The freshman tallied four goals and four assists in a win over Mitchell College on March 26th and netted five goals against Maine Maritime on March 28th.

Nick Brown, Husson University
(FY, A - Sabattus, ME)
The Eagles pushed their recorded to 2-0 in their first season of play. In the 20-11 win over Lyndon State, Brown had 6 goals, 4 assists, and 5 groundballs.

The freshman attacker got his career off with a bang scoring 10 points in his collegiate debut. DiSalvo scored 3 goals and handed out 7 assists in MMA's 20-2 victory.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Craig Salvagno, Lyndon State College
(Senior, Attack - Trumbull, Conn.)
Salvagno opened the 2009 season with seven goals and one assist as Lyndon State topped Mitchell College on Saturday, March 14 by a narrow margin of 12-11. Salvagno connected on half of his 14 shots in the game and accounted for 10 of Lyndon's 20 shots-on-goal in the contest.

Billy Gerke, Mount Ida College
(Fr, Midfield - Essex, Vermont)
Freshman midfielder Billy Gerke (Essex, VT/Rice Memorial) notched his first goal as a Mustang against Curry College in a 13-12 double overtime victory. Gerke has gotten a significant amount of playing time in his first season at Mount Ida and has contributed immensely.
