2014-15 NAC Men's Basketball All-Conference Announced; Donato & Parrish Earn Top Honors

Colby-Sawyer junior center Peter Donato (Portland, Maine) has been named as both the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while Castleton freshman guard Pavin Parrish (Rochester, Vt.) earned Rookie of the Year to headline the 2014-15 All-Conference announcement. Colby-Sawyer head coach Bill Foti and New England College head coach Charlie Mason were selected as Coach of the Year and the University of Maine at Farmington was voted to receive the Team Sportsmanship Award.

NAC All-Conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.

Donato, a Portland, Maine native, continues to be a high impact player for the Colby-Sawyer Chargers, who have earned the top-seed in the NAC Tournament. The junior currently leads his team in points per game (15.0), field goal percentage (57.7), blocks per game (1.3), and rebounds per game (6.3). Donato's field goal percentage currently ranks him 32nd among all NCAA Division III men's basketball players according to the most recent rankings. In the NAC, the junior ranks third in both offensive rebounds (62) and field-goal percentage, fourth in blocks (31), and tenth in overall rebounds (145). The center has recorded double-figure scoring in all but two games this season.

Parrish, a freshman from Rochester, Vt., has made an immediate impact as a rookie for the Castleton Spartans. The guard has averaged 4.5 assists per game ranking him first among his teammates and second in conference. Parrish is currently averaging 10.3 points per game, which ranks him fourth on his team. The rookie also ranks fourth among the Spartans in rebounds (78) and steals (22). He has netted 95-of-113 free throw attempts for an impressive 84.1 percentage which ranks him sixth in the NAC. The talented newcomer tallied three NAC Rookie of the Week honors this season and has scored 10 or more points on 10 separate occasions this season, including a career-high of 28.

Foti has guided his program to double-digit win totals in each of his 23 seasons, including nine 20 plus win seasons. This year's squad has earned the No. 1 seed in the NAC Tournament after going 15-3 in conference action. Foti has assembled a Charger squad that enters postseason play averaging an NAC second-best 79.2 points per game (34th in all of Division III), while permitting opposing teams just 65.7 points, lowest in the league. Colby-Sawyer also ranks among the top 50 programs in Division III in offensive rebounds per game (12th, 15.0), scoring margin (14th, 13.5), turnover margin (19th, 4.3), steals per game (27th, 9.7), rebound margin (28th, 7.0), and total steals (48th, 224). The Colby-Sawyer mentor earned his 400th victory earlier this season and currently holds an impressive 412-199 overall record and a 56-16 mark in NAC play.

Mason, in his 13th season at New England College, is being recognized as NAC Coach of the Year for the first time. He has led the Pilgrims to four NAC tournament appearances. NEC tallied an 11-7 record in conference play this season which earned them the No. 3 seed. New England College currently ranks 31st in all of Division III in scoring after averaging 79.5 points per game. The Pilgrims currently lead the NAC after recording a 45.8 field-goal percentage and a 36.8 three-point percentage, while also ranking second in assists per game (14.9), third in rebounds per game (38.5), and fourth in blocks per game (3.2).

Joining Donato on the All-Conference First Team were Thomas junior guard Levi Barnes (Skowhegan, Maine), Husson junior forward Trevon Butler (Waterbury, Conn.), Lyndon senior guard David Johnson (Washington, D.C.), and New England College junior guard Dezron Wilson (Hartford, Conn.).
